Who was Ayrton Senna? 

Ayrton Senna da Silva was one of the most significant racers in the history of Formula 1. His career was full of successes and controversies, and his life tragically ended in an accident during the San Marino Grand Prix in 1994.

Senna made his F1 debut with the Toleman-Hart team in 1984, before moving to Lotus-Renault in 1985, where he won six Grand Prix over the next three seasons. In 1988, he joined French driver Alain Prost at McLaren-Honda. Together they won all but one of the 16 Grand Prix that year, and Senna won his first championship title. Prost won the title in 1989, and Senna won his second and third titles in 1990 and 1991. From 1992, the Williams-Renault combination began to dominate Formula 1. Senna managed to finish the 1993 season in second place, won five races, and negotiated a move to Williams in 1994.

Senna was recognized for his speed in one-lap qualifying. From 1989 to 2006, he held the record for the most pole positions. He was also recognized for his performances in the wet conditions, such as at the Monaco Grand Prix in 1984, the Portuguese Grand Prix in 1985, and the European Grand Prix in 1993. He holds the record of six victories at the Monaco Grand Prix, and has won more races for McLaren than any other driver.

Senna was known for his deep interest in the education and development of young people in Brazil. It was his dream to offer new generations of Brazil basic opportunities to develop their potential, to become champions in school and in life. His work focused on education, an important tool to promote human development.

Senna was considered a very sensitive, intuitive, intellectual and charismatic person. His unwavering commitment to his work and relentless pursuit of perfection endeared him to fans worldwide and made him one of the most iconic figures in the history of motorsport.  Ayrton Senna was one of the most complex characters ever encountered in F1. He was a man who constantly strived to surpass his own limits. 

 Ayrton Senna was truly a unique talent, and his legacy will forever live in the hearts of Formula 1 fans worldwide.
